How to combat roofing prices by felting your roof, battening the felt and roof tiling yourself. Tile types, such as Marley and Redland are explained explained with some understanding oif ridge tiles. Solar tiles can be added and slate roofs are laid to much the same principle. UK roofs are different to US roofs in so much as we use clay and concrete tiles where timber shingles are often used in the US. The roof can be laid with reclaimed tiles and even rosemary tiles. Tile suppliers will be happy to quote for a cheap roof and work out the tile cost for you.
